This whole seat thing is getting out of hand.

Just posted across on the DIBB and while see what kind of reaction I get [:w]

Quote : "We are talking of a few seats (nobody can tell us exactly how many) on possibly 2 out of the 8 planes that rotate between lgw and man, which actually have a total of 3032 economy seats between them all.

Even if its 200 seats that are faulty - its only a 6% chance of getting one."

It would be pretty unlucky, but I personally would put up with it to be sitting in sunny Florida at this moment.(although it would probably annoy me at the time ;))

As ever YMMV

I think the reason this is so important to some people is the following original quote from VITB on page 1 of this thread. This is certainly what started off the DIBB thread:

If your flying on a NOVA Aircraft chances are you will not see a movie. We have having major problems with finding spares to fix the IFE and the A/C are being dispatched with some seats and zones with no IFE.

I couldn't find out if this issue indeed does affect 2 out of 8 aircraft, and then only some seats. If this is the case then I am reassured, and am happier about flying VS! The point is on the MCO route VS got my custom originally for their IFE, which distinguished them from the crowd - I've never looked anywhere else. Since then the competitors have caught up, and in fact some gone better...it would only take one bad experience......and I'm sure this goes for others like me too.

That email is referred to a lot in the DIBB thread. It is obviously a boiler plate response from the call centre on the Sub-continent. [V]

Comments have been made over there about how much they actually know about the current problems. [?]

I would think that a lot more regular and once a year MCO pax read the DIBB, than read V-Flyer. I also think the speculation is going to hurt VS / VH because the threads will stay there.

Isn't it about time that VS put out an official statement on the website, saying the extent of the problems? Or, if there isn't much of a problem, saying so.

They must know from the amount of emails and phone calls to CS, that there are a lot of rumours flying about.

Thats the point I was trying to make. The nature of the beast means that ever time the story gets told there's another 40 seats then eventually another plane out of action. It would be better for everyone, if there was an official statement.

This must be starting to cost them lost sales.

The rumour mill that is the internet chat boards I suppose. [:?]
