Only new route mentioned was the Maldives, perhaps from 2010, certainly no new routes expected next year while we consolidate what we have.

Thanks for the update, good to hear LGW will finally be getting v-port.

When you say 'consolidate' could this mean the 2 LGW MCO flights will only be 1 now? Just interested.

Thanks

What makes you say that, Clare?

I take 'consolidate' to mean keeping things as they are. I know some of the MCO flights during school time have light loads and very occasionally one of them is cancelled causing them to be amalgamated. AFAIK this only happens as a short term solution after unforeseen cancellations elsewhere - either due to weather or an aircraft going tech.

consolidate = (usually) combine into one

So I took it to mean combine the VS experience into one rather than combine flights, which would be an excellent thing!

I am pleased with the information Virginboy747 provided. After all, this isn't a company site, nor is it a hot tea and a sit down.

I prefer my websites to have some bit more value than my own blatherings, conjecture on the cleanliness of ninja suits, or updates on what's new in Humberside. Thank you, Virginboy, for some actual news.

I doubt we will be going down to one MCO from LGW, as in April we will be having 3 daily from LGW, as well as the MAN & GLA! MCO will certainly look fabulous with 5 tails lined up, will make the single BA flight on certain days look poorly :)

I personally can't wait for the new aircraft to arrive, although in all honesty don't want to learn the diagrams for the A380 - that will be a beast!

Sorry to clarify, the aim is to not grow any further next year but to concentrate on the routes we already have. The impetus is to sell more seats in order to fill the planes, as well as concentrating on the service throughout the company to ensure we have a really strong product when we begin to expand again.
The leisure routes at LGW are doing very well so the plan is to have more frequencies but on smaller aircraft.

Will there be more UC suites on these routes do you know ? I use them a lot (for business to Vegas area) and J tends to sell very well and fast.

Thanks

I believe the plan is to have a larger J and larger W cabin on th LGW 744s when they go in for their refit. No news on exactly how many though.

I'm always negative Nick [:I]

Seriously though, I know at certain times of the year and on certain days it can be pretty quiet on the route and just wondered if Virgin would look at cutting back on the days that are known to be quiet (they used to not run both flights on a Thursday post 9/11).
