I've have a good read of the thread.

I am very much in the 'all equal' in the CH and on the AC camp

If a person needs the exclusivity, can afford the exclusivity, then they buy the exclusity, but NOT at the expense of others.

Quite simply, the area should not have been roped off.

If her appearance wasn't a VS publicity stunt; she paid for it. Since most of you are so concerned about the money you've paid, why don't you request a roped-off area price. See if you are prepared to pay for it. What would you expect to pay for it? An additional £5,000? £10,000?

Further to my little tete a tete with the duty manager back in August over to the Naomi incident I would like to confirm that apparently no charge is made for the roping off / I'm so important nonsense. In fact the delightful man assured me it was available to ALL passengers if they (the passengers)felt there was a need,ie big party etc. Yeah, right (muttered in petulant adolescent snarl). No, no he assured me, available to all. If anyone would like to test this theory (V-flyers being absolute VIPs) count me in[.
Not about money then.

If someone can afford to pay a substantial amount for a roped off area they sit in for 20-60 minutes in a lounge then they can afford to fly private.

I have less of a problem with crew fawning, they are after all mainly young people and young people are impressed by celebrity, but for management to do this is out of order. And I don't blame Madonna (or whoever) as they may not even have requested it.

Well, I would throw a hissy fit if I was in the Clubhouse with the little Clouds and found the kids area roped off. Mind you, a mere rope barrier would not impede Not-Quite-So-Baby Cloud and he'd be straight in there with the toys. Quite frankly, I don't think I'd try too hard to stop him either.

Another vote for the 'one rule for all'!

In many other countries there is the notion of CIPs as well as VIPs (as in commercially important people). I'd wager that some (many) business people are as important and more than many celebs, but you don't generally see them demanding roped off areas. The same category would describe a number of V-Flyers too!

That said, I am not in favour of closing the children's area to accommodate VIPs, although for His Grace I am sure it held a special delicious irony.

Anything further you'd care to divulge on this encounter?
