LAS - LAX - Feasibility

Hi
Wondered if some of you more seasoned travellers could give me some advice here.
My friend and I are off to Veags for a week on Wednesday (to rapidly deplete the end of year sales bonus).
What we'd like to do is spend a night in LA clubbing. We're looking to fly out of Vegas around 7pm and then fly back ASAP after the clubs have shut.
I have looked at Southwest for the flight, which is affordable but means the return flight is at 9am.

Could anyone recommend any other (cheap) US carriers for the flight? Does anyone think this idea is not feasible?

At this stage we're unsure of which club we're going to so I guess the other obstace would be transport to/from LAX, I'm guessing the cost of the taxis isn't going to be cheap.

Any info would be appreciated
Thanks

Hi,

Also try America West ( HP) their fares can be quite good ( plus VS miles)

Good luck on your clubbing!! :)

I personally would go clubbing in Las Vegas over LA. Studio 54 at MGM is good. Infact most of the hotels have clubs.

Reason for doing LA lies in our taste for music..and sadly LV doesn't seem to cater for metal/rock/etc. Hence the rather ambitious plan to jet off to LA for the night.

America West flight 113 leaves LAS at 1810 and gets into LAX at 1915.

Coming back will be more of a problem - you may have to extend your cluubing hours somewhat as the first return in the morning is 8am.

ermmm isn't that a normal end of clubbing time these days? :D Gone are the days of walking back to the Wirral through the Mersey Tunnel at 02:00 when the State closed....

Cheers for the info. For some reason the AW site isn't working for me, I can see the schedules but can't get prices, either get a blank section of screen ora VB Runtime error.

I can tolerate a alight around 8-9am , my only concern is waiting around LAX for a few hours.

Decker- whats with the Viper Club? Is it the place to be for attractive young Californian ladies clad in black PVC clothes?

I'm looking for a 'yes' here!

Mmmm - the Viper Rooms - Johnny Depp's place!
http://www.viperroom.com

United have a flight at 6:55am, arrives at 08:02.

You may want to allow some recovery time, as the airlines will refuse to carry you if you look drunk. Have you considered a room at a airport hotel and take a later flight in the morning. THis should counter the more expensive early morning flights!

I would have to agree with the comments about staying in LAS though - I'm sure you could fine a similar club if you try! Vegas is quite a big place:

Thanks,
Richard

Well as someone who was born and raised in Blackpool ("There's a seaside town in Blackpool, that's noted for fresh air and fun") I must have missed out somewhere!

*Sigh* that's one of the things I miss about living up North - a quick trip over to Blackpool, or up to the Lakes during summer [:(]

Cheers

Well how do you think I feel living over here. I can to a certain extent empathise with the Lake District with the scenery around me but NOTHING has the brashness of Blackpool!

I'm still trying to figure out how a topic about jetting over from LAS to LAX for a night of clubbing got onto the subject of reminiscing about Blackpool! ;)

Absolutely! And nothing beats walking along the sea front eating fish & chips out of a newspaper after a hard day's drinking :D

Pix - LAX, LAS, Blackpool, they're all the same :D:D

Cheers

Michael
