I recently went to the website to see how much a PE to new york coming back from LA was, it was about £722. A few days later this had jumped to £1138 or something like that. These prices are in the sale. Does anyone know if virgin has a cut off date within the time frame of the sale as to when they bump the price up? Is the price bump up based on capacity gain of seats booked or does it run on a time frame? Does anyone know?

Thanks

No - but once the K inventory (limited) for each flight is sold, it jumps to S or W which is around £1,200 (as you saw).

All sale fares are "subject to availability" - by that, they mean until all the K's on that flight have been sold. The time limit (ie: book by 31st Jan) only indicates when a K itself will shift from £700 to £900 (ish, guessing).
