Just a quick question on the member’s kit, when completing your details it asks for your forum name, is this my full name or my user name to log in to V-Flyer?
Bit of a silly question I know, but there’s always one!
Cheers

Is this your name for the luggage tags? If so it is your full name (or whatever else you want to be called!). Its worth think about what to put in the contact details - if your luggage were lost, and you were abroad, what would be the best way to contact you?

If you are referring to
this page, then its your forum name, so Trev2283. When i go to that page my forum name is automatically entered into the box.
The two lines for 'personalisation' are for your luggage tags - so your real name and phone number or email address. As Sailor says, think about your best means for contact for the tags, your mobile phone number in international format is probably the best option.

Can someone remind me of this:
Going to get a silver membership card, and want to put my phone number on it, so its:
+44 then you miss out the first zero of the area code? eg 01532 becomes +44 1532 etc.......

Why does it say "£10.00 (£10.00) (Member's price £7.50)" next to the silver membership card, yet it automatically defaults to £10.00 in the basket?

I have tried about three times to buy a membership kit with my credit card but everytime I've automatically been taken to a site to open a paypal account. Is opening a paypal account the only way of obtaining a membership kit?

Pete will give the the definitive answer, but AFIAK - yes [8D]
V-Flyer is nowhere near big enough to have a merchant account, so Paypal is the easiest, safest and most convenient way of transferring money.
I was quite cynical before I fully understood Paypal, but I swear by it now - I use it to send and receive cash, and have never had a problem.

That would mean your seeing the non-members price (ie, the first one @ £10). You need to be logged in to get the discounted price; which you should be able to do by entering your membership number at the top of the page in the store.
Pete
p.s. As Nick says, V-Flyer isn't a huge commercial operation, so the only way we can accept credit card payments is via PayPal. Also as Nick says, I've never had a problem with them; it's been safe and fast and easy to use for many years now.

PS100: I tried a 'dumpy' check out form the VF store. When clicking '
If you do not currently have a PayPal account, click here (button)' on the page that asks for your PayPal username and password; I was able to get to the final screen without signing in to PayPal, only with a credit card. PayPal is safe using PayPal opens the wonderful world of eBay

I have tried again but it is telling me I need to sign up to paypal which I am a bit relucant to do because as well as my credit card details they seem to want all of my bank account details as well which seems a bit strange if I am paying by credit card.

Hi PS100,
Thanks for the feedback. It's prompted me into looking at some alternative payment systems out there. Whilst PayPal is safe, I appreciate it's not right for everyone.
Thanks,
Pete

As a side, the reason for this from PayPals angle is that your bank account is your default payment option (with Credit Cards being added as secondary options).
A more relistic view seems to be that they want you to only have one personal Paypal account, which corresponds with your personal bank account. You give your bank details when you sign up (useful as you switch funds between your Paypal account and your bank account) but its main use is for Paypal to check that the name on your Paypal account matches the name on your Bank account.
I got into an interesting situation when they discovered i had two Paypal accounts, as apparently i could have used them to launder money or something silly. Needless to say, my second Paypal account was quashed [:(]
