Changing names?

I need some advice.....

About to book some flights over to JFK for late december for me and the (by then) new Mrs Jimmy Mc. She has a FC card currently in her maiden name (we dont get married till late july) and we are off to MCO for the honeymoon but that flight is also booked in her maiden name.

By the time the JFK trip comes up her passport will be in her married name, so obviously I am booking the flight as such. But if I put her FC number in the booking am I going to encounter any problems such as 'card number does match booking name'?

Should I just leave putting the card number in until after we are back from honeymoon and calling FC to affect the changes and then adding the number in then?

All you need to do is give FC a call once the passport name is changed. If you are not authorised on her account, SHE will have to do the calling, but the principle will remain the same. If she wants to keep her FC name in her maiden name, they can always do that and just change the name the system look for, her PNR name, so the miles will go across seamlessly. They WILL need a copy of the marriage certificate or a copy of the data page in the passport showing the name change....

Cheers Juliet - Thanks for that, just didnt fancy the idea of the wife to be losing any miles.

Similar position myself - married last October & we travelled on honeymoon with flights in wifes maiden name.
When I phoned to book flights on 31st, I asked virtually the same question - girl took my booking with my FC details & said I (well my wife!) would have to write in with a photocopy of marraige certificate confirming the change of name.
This secured me flights @ the sale prices and I just need to phone up sometime in next 5 months & add wifes FC number once she gets it changed.
