What to do between 00:00 and 08:00 in NY :)

So, thanks to extreme loyalty, I'm going to Mexico with VS.

Out via Miami, and back via EWR. Problem is the New York flight lands at JFK at midnight and I take off on the VS18 from EWR at 08:00 ...

How do I kill ALL that TIME! - its has to be legal (or at least not something a Lib Dem would do... well, would do and get caught)

Answers on a sleeping tablet to "Why didn't you fly BA direct (they don't have UCS) you dumb dork)...

Spotttings always an option, hang out in the EWR clubhouse (take pictures!!!!). It going to take an hour probably to get to EWR and then you have to check in at about 6:30. So in the end it's probably not going to be as long as you think. I think the safest thing to do would be to get to EWR so that if anything goes wrong at least your at the airport.

your most important concern will be sleep. you could fit a nice 5 hours in there and most departure lounges will be empty.[|)]

Well if you don't have to work when you get back to London I would find and all night diner and veg for a couple of hours, watch the New York night life drift by,then catch a cab over to EWR and wait for the flight.

In all honesty thats a horrible time to get into NYC,is there no other routing you can come up with,it's not even worth getting a hotel room for, though having been in downtown Newark at that time it may be your safest bet.

Well I'd concur with Dave, and then how about this for an idea - go to a spa! There are a number of all nighters and some serve food and drinks too.

There is a Marriott hotel on the EWR property. Perhaps you could have a limo pick you up at JFK and whisk you to EWR where you could grab some sleep before the flight.

I'd take a room at EWR although you'd only be getting use of the room for a few hours for your money. See if you can change your flights or standby (if the airline will let you) for an earlier flight.

Thanks for the great tips... i was worried about a hotel at EWR - can the marriot be that bad?

spa is an interesting option ... if a little insane

i'll take a look at the Marriot online. The other option is to change to a night VS flight, have a sleep and then shop for a few hours - but I might consider that on the day.

IMHO that would be the better option, way back when I spent a night in Newark without a hotel room and it's not the best place in the world during daylight hours.

I think you're right. I'll book either the Marriot or the Hilton.
