Anyone flown from LGW recently and noticed how the waiting area at the VS gates have had a makeover.
Next new glass jet bridges are being installed!
Very posh!

What a difference it has made, it really was getting to be a bit tired looking. You can even make out the announcements now

Flew out of LGW on 18th Jan and got to say I didn't notice anything. Flew from Gate 32. What should I have seen. I don't get to see much of the gate area due to moving straight from the lounge to being on-board. Also, didn't notice anything when arriving yesterday morning. Can you elaborate a little more.

Will the makeover put an end to the scrum when boarding and perhaps make priority boarding easier to achieve?

It didn't, read my TR

Paul,
I don't know why but this really irritates me. If they can perform priority boarding so well overseas why can't they do it here?

I seem to think there was a new ceiling, with fancy lights at the gate and a new pa system . The old neon numbers are gone. There is a long light thing on the roof from each gate to the middle of the satelite with lots of chrome.
Wasn't there for too long but only noticed because of the guys on the stepladders.
The priority boarding wasn't an issue for us as there was only 45 on the plane [:w] (but we were boarded first)
