Just wondering, are all "special" VS flights designated as 8...? A few years back, I remember reading an article in a magazine where they had flown on the flight taking the A346 to farnborough for the airshow. This was designated as VS808.

Cheers,

There are set flight numbers for regular positioning flights eg. LHR-DUB, DUB-LHR, LHR-AMS, AMS-LHR etc. Training flights are VS830T, VS831T, VS832T etc. All flight numbers ending in T are training flights, not just for VS. By filing a flight plan with a 'T' in the flight number you pay reduced Eurocontrol Route charges.

True, as is 'E' for maintenence/engineering, 'P' for positioning and "R' for rescure. Not too sure why the likes of First Choice and Tommyfly use 'A' and 'B'.
