Having got the latest gemini jet, G-VROM, i noticed that the airborne date on the front was December 2001, and thought it was a mistake by gemini.

But then when i looked at various pics of the plane on a.net, i noticed the real plane has a wrong date! Various other sites show that the aircraft was delivered in May 2001. Did VS run out of May stickers and decide to put December stickers on instead, or is there another reason for this?!

Maybe it didn't come in actual service until December, or Boeing decided to put on the date when all of the 744s would be finished and delivered (because this aircraft was part of the 6 or so Alitalia order).

There are pictures of this plane on a.net taken in August 2001 - so it did get delivered before its "air-born" date.

VS error I assume?

Boeing perhaps, they are incharge of all the painting and ... decaling (?).

Im sure they were added when the A346's were delivered. So it may be Virgins mistake.

Maybe the stickers were applied on a Friday afternoon!
