Not sure this is the right forum, but it has to do with hotels as much as FC & VH.
Just picked this up in another post (FC members getting 10% discount on VH)...

Went to VH & looked at a couple of hotels - bit about discount says it will be applied to "full brochure price" .... Is there anyway to ensure that this is the price VH are quoting me?
Quick look @ 3 nights in NYC - couple of hotels ive looked at have come up cheaper than going through hotels own sites (Hilton for example, who guarantee rooms booked direct will be cheaper!!)
As I have got HH-Gold - clearly would rather book direct for the benefits/points/etc - but £100 less on the 3-night stay with possibly 10% further off, think id rather save the money & lose a couple of benefits (or else contact Hilton & try & get a price match

)...
As the discount doesnt get taken off until after booking is made, clearly Im not willing to make booking with price given just incase the discount is to apply to a different rate (site not very clear on this [V]).
Anyone know if I will get the 10% off the £650 quoted , or off of a dearer "brochure price"??

Gonna contact Hilton anyway due to their price-promise , so may be irrelevant - but would be nice to know just in case (they might not price-match the 10% discount, which would still be significant enough, but then again they might!)

I got the FC discount off the advertised brochure price, but best to phone and book, and get the discount immediately, as you can't apply it online when you book.

Thanks, will try & remember to call them at start of week (for June, so not essential right now, hardly a hotel shortage in NYC!)
Didnt word OP too good, kinda my thoughts as they came out when I typed...
Essentially what I was wondering is:

Is the brochure price & the advertised online price the same , or are they different?

No point phoning to get 10% off of a dearer price, but would certainly be worthwhile if the advertised price was the brochure price! (In which case my first phonecall will be to Hilton

)

Looking at my booking, the brochure price is slightly higher than the online price. I paid the online price, less 10%, plus CC surcharges. Can't get a price now as it's booked up, so can't verify if the online price changed at all.

You get 10% off lounge access too (can only be used if flying VS) [y]

Hmmm...
Im going VS to NYC rtn anyway - onto Wisconsin for wedding, but having a few nights in NYC first...
If i book a night through VH - will that entitle me to book the clubhouse then?? (I have a free year of Priority Pass anyway, but clearly would prefer the clubhouse

).
Only got a 2hr connection time @ LHR, so maybe not worth it outbound, but the VS lounge for return flight would be good, given flight is in evening.

You can only book the LHR or LGW lounges, and you have to be flying with VS, but you don't have to buy anything else from VH to purchase the voucher though. You still get the FC discount as well, so Â£54 for LHR.

Very nice to know.

Might just do that, surely a better waste of my Â£50 than an exit row

Wonder if I can get the earlier BMI flight down.[:?]

Unfortunately, yes you do - see this link, which states: "Please note: to book a Virgin Clubhouse lounge you must have purchased your travel with Virgin Holidays". I believe this was only introduced as a new condition with this year's offerings.

I bought mine last year, but only got the voucher through on Friday. It says on it that I must be flying VS. Whilst I have booked accom through VH, they were seperate bookings.

If i cant get the hotel i want cheaper direct, then i`ll give em a phone. Doesnt put me up or down too much , would only have had an hour to experience it (if pos I`ll wait until next trip & take a longer connect [8D]), presuming of course that the BMI flight arrives on time & we change terminals sharpish (last transfer I thought they were walking us to LAX it took so long[xx(] , were 5mins waiting on the bus[|)], then Im sure it took us on a tour of London before dropping us off, leaving a lengthy walk to the ANZ gate)

Are you able to book/price hotels alone through the VH website? Or do you have to call them to get the price? If you can book through the web-site a link would be appreciated.

Another problem, can anyone check availability for any dates past 31/12/05 (yes 2005). Tried both IE and Firefox and I can't get any other dates.

editted to add, only appears to be a problem for the florida hotel. New York tested and worked fine.

Update 2: Its only a problem on certain hotels. Obviously is either by design or a site/hotel problem. Will check again another time

Which hotels did you try??
I was only looking in NYC & could check all hotels I looked up...
Needing a couple nights in Chicago, but couldnt get any there this year...
Possibly only letting you get 2006 hotels : cities VS fly too??

I am awaiting a reply from VH on the very subject. However, judging by the deafening silence currently being experienced, I don't think I'll be holding my breath[ii]

Sadly, ive never got to use it yet[:(!]... Although I had a 2hr connect @ LAX I found Starbucks first [^]& having gone a week without my fuel, figured it was a better option than paying the Â£15 to get my wife into the lounge;).
Only other airport I spent long enough in was Auckland & there isnt a PP lounge there

I've become thoroguhly confused and bemused by what you can and can't do if you're going with VH - or not! I THOUGHT someone here said I could book to get into the clubhouse (LGW) by contacting VH - and that all I needed to be doing was to be flying VS (I am) and not necessarily a VH. Armed with that info, I spoke to VH, who said yes, I could do that - but I needed to contact V airline direct. I did this and was told, quite categorically, that this wasn't the case! When I pointed out that VH had told me I could, they still said no. I did suggest at this point that it could be a good idea to all be telling the same story....

I then went back to VH and asked the same question and again was told that, yes, I could book for the clubhouse but I needed to speak to VS. This is beginning to get monotonous - I explained what had happened before and was told it definitely WAS possible but to contact VS again and if I had no joy, to come back and they would do it for me. This time, I got through to premium services - they stil told me I can't do it - and that the only possibility for this is asking on the day.

When I ordered lounge access with VH, the rules were that you just had to be flying with VS. I think they must have realised that people were booking the pass but no holiday so they added the following condition:

Please note: to book a Virgin Clubhouse lounge you must have purchased your travel with Virgin Holidays.

You can still book the lounges on line here:

My apologies if I confused you, but the rules changed after I booked. Though it's still not clear if travel with VH means a full holiday or just the accom (I've used them for accom only).

I'd try ordering on line though and seeing what happens, maybe they don't check too hard!

YOUR reply didn't confuse me, but Virgin certainly did! Thanks for the tip re booking online, but I can't get it to work (had already tried that tack) - whichever PC I try from, it come sup with an error message about no cookies enabled - which is confusing in itself, since I have them enabled here.....
