What you can do to help Virgin America

The biggest thing right now is helping Virgin America get through the submission and approval process. Fortunately the DOT allows anyone to submit a comment relating to a submission, and as you can see by all the pages, many people have. What I am in the process of doing, and what you can do to, is email or mail a submission with a small letter listing a reason or reasons why Virgin America should be allowed to operate. Just click here and go to the top where it says comment/submission and follow the instructions. It's not that difficult, you may need to look at the help section to know what to put in the different fields.

Remember that if you decide to do this, only put in reasons that are pretty obvious and reasonable, like making jobs, etc. If you put in things that are questionable as to whether they will happen, then your comment will be less trustworthy, especially if what you say doesn't come true. If you still want to list questionable things then I suggest putting some words before the things that point out that they are only possibilites. You can also look at some of the other comments to look at the format and such.

Remember, what you are doing may help get Virgin America flying!

Don't you have to be an US Citizen?

I guess so, but I think you just need a US address.

You could always write and email with your support of Virgin.

It says on the submitted form that objections must be received before 29/12/05. Doesn't that also mean that messages of support (what is the opposite of objection?) must be received prior to this time also?

I don't think so, if you go to the last page you can see filing dates as recent as 2/2/06. That date is only for objections against a speedy filing.

so, should we add in that they should either codeshare or at least meet the VS flights that fly into one of their proposed destinations?

I don't think you understand what it is, you aren't making suggestions to Virgin America, you're writing stuff to the USDOT to make them accept Virgin America as an airline.
