Couple of quick Q's , hopefully someone in the know [y]
1) Can OLCI be used when tickets have been issued? Virgin FAQs dont say you cant .... but then they dont say you can
2) Can OLCI be used where there is connecting flights? Again, Virgin FAQs dont state either way.
More-so interested with the return flight, where Virgin would be checking us in anyway.

IFAIK neither will make a difference, but I stand to be corrected.
Presumably your connecting flights are with another airline, so I don't know how that will work with getting your luggage checked through to your final destination.

I can let you know for sure on Wednesday, as I have paper tickets for a flight to CVG via JFK , 1st leg VS

2nd DL.[n] I'm not sure that it's worth through checking the baggage anyway, as I obviously have to claim it & drag it through customs at JFK. watch this cyberspace!

Due to lack of Virgin domestic flights, yes

Went with BMI due to agreement with VS , plus the miles-earning benefit.
Figured I may have been able to do it with seperate bookings, with paid the little extra to book it as through flight from GLA & hopefully avoid hiccups other family members have endured when connecting with seperate-bookings.

Paper tickets, e tickets, parking tickets, whatever you've got, you can use OCLI, so long as there are no other issues with your booking.
Connecting flights is not an issue. Apart from a few select CO flights and CO destinations, Virgin cannot check you in for any other airlines flight.
OLCI works exactly the same as regular check in.

OK, I did the LHR-JFK-CVG thing and my baggage WAS tagged thru to CVG (but obviously I had to claim it at JFK, clear customs & then put it back on the transfer belt) I was also given, at LHR, by the lady at the VS bag drop, two seperate boarding cards, one for each sector. So I WAS checked in for both flights.
