Hi, another newbie here!:)
firstly can I say what an excellent site, lots of great info and comments.

I have recently booked return flights to LAX from LHR (VS007 & VS024) for my family and I.
Does anyone know what In-flight entertainment system these aircraft have - one is a B744 the other an A340 Any comments?

Secondly, I have pre-assigned seats 71A&C and 72A&C (outbound) and 19A&C and 20A&C (inbound) Does anyone know these seats? Any comments regarding leg-room, windows, etc, I have 2 children 11[}:)] & 6[:I] and windows are important - although I think that we may be over the wing?

Welcome to the site paddyc.

The entertainment system depends on which aircraft is operating that route on that particular day, and because schedules change all the time it's difficult to be sure.

However, on the VS07, most of the time it has been operating with Suite-fitted 747s, which would mean either V:Port or Odyssey, with slightly more chance of V:Port. There is also a slim chance that you'll get Arcadia if G-VFAB is on the route and you're on the flight before G-VFAB gets its refit in June/July.

The 340-300s that often operate the VS24 will be either Arcadia or Odyssey. The rumour mill has it that a 747 might be put on the second flight to LAX, as demand is growing. Dunno when or if that might happen though, so it's likely to be the 343. If you want the 747 (and a chance of V:Port, get the earlier VS08 back)

Hi Paddyc and welcome,

Agree with what pix says and I would strongly advise you to get onto VS8 for the return leg, it is so much better than the Airbus! If you can go for the upper deck as you have on VS7. I suppose the only downside is it leaves a little earlier but IMHO it is worth it.

Thanks Bazz and Pixuk,

My flight is in October so will that make a difference regarding re-fits?

Unfortunately due to connections into LAX we need to get onto the later flight so there is no chance of getting VS8.
