Just noticed this on my new E ticket that I recieved today, its just after the ticket number
"General Information IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO TAKE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION OR PAGES TO THE AIRPORT."
Saves taking 5 or 6 pages or rubbish with you to the airport! and wasting your ink
Sorry if its been discussed before!:D

THANK GOD this is being put on there!
All the c/i agent needs to see is your name, flight, return flight if needed and the ticket numbers.
Not the hundreds and hundreds of small print that goes with it!

I dont really see why you need to print anything off, your passport must be good enough ID to say that you are the persn named in the booking! But at least 1 page is better that the big wedge you had to print off before:)

In the past I only printed off the first page of the email and it sufficed me well. However when I flew to MCO last July I had a genteel argument with the lady at security and she went off an printed an e-ticket for me. When I got home I checked with my previous trip in May and discovered that VS had inserted an extra paragraph which pushed my name on to the second page. The next time I flew I only printed off page 2 which had my name (and my son's name) and the booking reference. That was all that was needed.
I have seen people turn up at LHR with only passports and it puts the security people in a spin - not one they can't get out of, but it is time consuming while they go over to ticketing (or worse, send you over!)

I only ever tend to use the "Update My Booking" page (printed double-sided). Although I have the full e-ticket in my bag, I've NEVER been queried using this simple website printout before.

This is a common mistake by passengers who think the idea of an e-ticket is to save the airlines money on printing out tickets.
VS still need to see the ticket print out as it says so much about you, and to check whether you have the correct requirements to enter a country.
Would you want to get on an aircraft knowing the person had only been checked Ryan Air style?!?!

Well if you had a MAC you can print your email straight into a PDF. I know you can do the same with a PC, but not straight from the base OS.

From reading around it seems that carrying the E-Ticket is for the benefit of US Immigration so they can see that you are returning. US Domestic flights don't need the E-Ticket at all, and people like Continental and BA only "strongly recommend" that you bring it to help with Immigration.
