Can someone tell me how or if I can manage my booking on-line when I have booked with a TA? They have released our names to virgin - but I would much rather prefer to manage my booking myself on-line. Also will I be able to do on-line check-in?

Cheers

First step, ask the TA for your "PNR" - a set of letters and numbers that VS issue them
2nd, if they don't have it, call Virgin direct. Give them your name and flight details, and they can give you your PNR.

Put this into the "Booking Reference" field, and you're away.

Hi Fiona

We booked our trip (departing 11th March) with a TA and haven't received our tickets yet, but I called VA a month or so ago and was given my booking ref, and while I was on the line I chose our seats.
When I tried the booking ref on the website initially it wouldn't work, but tried again yesterday and hey presto, it worked !

Good luck

I used the online seat selector for the first time a couple of weeks ago and think its a brilliant innovation!!!

First time with Virgin! and up to now pre-departure service is very good.

The travel agent should know the PNR code as I am a travel agent and you get the PNR code when you make the booking, even if it hasn't been ticketed yet.

Where are you off to Fiona and on what aircraft?

How far in advance can you book your seats? Also how do you see the seat reviews and plans - I did this 2 years ago but my memory is letting me down!

As soon as the flight is bookable via Virgin Atlantic Airways (rather than Virgin Holidays) which is around the 336 days mark. A great improvement over the 6 months they offered previously.

NB if you booked with a TA and have Allocation seats then be prepared that you won't be able to get a Locator (PNR) or seat allocation until tickets are issued. But you will have got a great fare!

Just a quick addition to this because I have been frustrated by getting it wrong - if you have a return ticket then the "Manage your Flights" section will not let you book your seats until both the outbound and inbound journeys are within the 336 day time - I once spent 2 weeks trying to make a booking and then "wham" all of a sudden I could - I then realised that the permission to do so was was determined by the return trip
