Hi !

Lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time and book an upgrade last night for £45 with FVC discount for our home leg :) Only wish we were flying out in May too !

I had seen this on the Dibb. Before I booked my May flights yesterday with VA I did a search on VH. However, if you check availability on-line for May (I was looking at flydrives) the system offers £110 outward supp and £50 return.

Any other dates show the full supplement.

There are, however, some interesting comments on the Dibb of people ringing VH and upgrading for £50 EW (May only) by upgrading existing bookings, and others that have apparently been given refunds when the full supplements had already been paid. I'm amazed that VH are doing the latter.

Jilly

Sorry - on further inspection the £110 is actually £50 PE one way plus £60 fuel supp - it only explains this in the full costing screen.

Its a ruddy good deal and one in the eye for first choice and TCD,
especially those that got refunds on prior bookings.[^][y]

I think the offer will be dependent on destination and dates - I know MCO is only for May.

However, Jacq it looks like Boston (I presume that's the flight you're talking about) is covered through other dates too - I would certainly make the call if I was you.

Good luck

Hurrumph! Cos I'm booked with VH then I have to speak to them. The guy I spoke to however did say that it's more of a special price than buying an Econ seat and paying £45 for the upgrade. Oh well, ho hum. I'll poke up with it for this one as the other two (much longer) flights this year are PE. It'll just make me apreciate them even more (if I haven't died from DVT ;)).
Cheers

Sorry Jacq - thought you realised this was VH thing only so you would need to spk directly to them! Never mind - always worth a try though!

Oooh yes - one of the 7 Deadly sins - hope you dont suffer from any of the others !! Mind you - looks like you're starngling an alligator - but I think I can see the tape round its mouth - cheat!!! ( dont think thats a sin tho!!!)

Go on Jacq - get an upgrade into PE - you know you want to - we know you want to- and SRB knows you want to!!!

Jacq if you look at the VA website is gives special PE fares - yes there is a fare from 12 April but another higher one which covers 1st - 11th April

On this basis I would assume that you actually paid more for your VH package than someone departing after the 12th, so you've actually paid the higher fare already - I still think if you've got the patience to wait for the call centre then it's worthwhile ringing.

Don't forget you'll also get extra miles and TPs if you're successful!

Yer i no how you feel - one day if Im a good boy i might get UC, but until then cheap PE will do very nicely indeed - could do with VH doing the same offer for PE to UC, any chances?........ no i thought not either - oh well - Ill dream on!
#101491 by GatorBaiter
23 Feb 2006, 21:59
You're right about the higher fare, Jilly - chose to go on 5th April as the price hiked by about £100 on 6th!

Mark - if I could have done it without tape on it's gob then I would, but it was actually meant for small kids, not big ones like me [:I] S'all good fun and anything's excusable when on your jollies isn't it?! [:w]
