Question about miles upgrade ??

Hi all

Im flying out to LAX at the end of March in UC .... Mrs S would like to accompany me to shop while I'm hard at work

At the moment there are no seats available in UC for upgrades although the dates I have in mind there is still plenty of availability otherwise ... FC tell me they should release more seats nearer the time.

My questions are :-
1.Is there a waitlist for miles upgrades ?
2.If so is there any pecking order as to who gets them ? ...Does the class of ticket you are upgrading from make a difference ie is there a better chance if you are upgrading from PE rather than Y
3. Does FC status count towards this ?
4. Would a miles upgrade get priority over a companion ticket?

There is no waitlist Mark - it's first come, first served. Just keep trying on the phone/web for availability to free up.

The seats usually free up about a week before the flight. However for a gold, sometimes the premier team will have a word with revenue a few days before that is the loading is light - I guess that is a kind of pecking order.

If anyone finds themselves in the same position ..... I called FC today to book my own ticket and an extremely helpful agent spent a great deal of time looking for a flight with the most currently available seats and running thru my options........she says that whilst there is no waitlist for a miles only ticket or companion ticket .... if I purchase upgradable PE or Econ then it is shown in the booking as waiting a miles upgrade to UC and is x ref to my booking/FC account. She also indicated that a Gold FC member will always get priority ..... looks like i'll have to splash out on a PE ticket for Mrs S 'just in case'.
