Has anyone tried the virgin limo bike transfer to the airport before. I have booked one for tomorrow to take me from Canary Wharf to LHR in rush hour and they reckon they can get me to the airport in 40 mins as opposed to the 1.5 hours it usually takes in a car at that time of day!

Cant wait to try it out it although it sounds like a may need a stiff brandy when I eventually get to the airport [:0]:)

You're fine. I have used one once (not VS) for a transfer to city airport. They ride cautiously, but of course go to the front of the traffic queues.

But then again, for holiday work when I was a student I did courier riding. So maybe I am bike hardened!

Unless bad weather hits you should be fine. It is a very fun experience :D.

Now you have said that you hope it doesn't snow, it is a near certainty that it will! As it happens it is snowing here even as we speak [y]

They will of course give you weatherproof/safetly gloves as well, and your helmet will have a 'walkie-talkie style' ability to speak with the driver (and he to you) which also should allow mobile phone calls, if you can do that while zipping along the streets of London at rush hour!

Enjoy! It's a rush!

You should have said earlier...could've given you a ride...just sold my CBR600! [ii]

Can't guarantee I would ride as sensibly but what's the fun if sensible on a superbike?!! [}:)]

No honestly, I can post a pic as proof of ownership, though it's showing a bit of leg so not sure the mods'd be ok with it? [:?][:I];)

I think proof of ownership is too important here to be concerned with trifling matters of modesty..post away....[:w]

What is the correct etiquette here?

Hands round the rider, or use the grab rail? I've riden for 16 years, now got an R6 but never been a pillion.
#102405 by GatorBaiter
28 Feb 2006, 21:43
Grab the rail if you wanna look hard, hang on to the rider for dear life if you wanna stay in one piece. Ah no, maybe that's just when I'm in charge of the twisty handle [:I]

Seriously, sod the etiquette, hang on to the rider and try to relax cos then you'll fall in with the motion of the bike and move with it. Though don't try to be Neil Hodgson and hang your arse off in the corners ;)

Ive just noticed that Jacq's picture of the new Bike Limo service is now not on the front page anymore.

I would like to vote for one of two things:

a. The mods make it a sticky
or
b. The mods make it a sticky!!!

There a pictures of food on the front page now - and nice as they are - they are not that nice!!!

Hahaha
