One of my favourite feel good films, anyway towards the end of the film the little American girl at the end of the concert heads to heathrow for a flight to JFK with VAA, I guess the flight was around 8 -9pm. Question are there actualy any flights west bound that time of night? Q decker with a link to this already being discussed.[:p]

Since it was set in winter (and therefore dark earlier in the evening), could it be the VS9 at 17:55?

(Bearing in mind it's a fictional story, so could the flight time could have absolutely no reference to reality... [:I])

What, this thread? ;)

The search isn't as scary as it might seem - you might like to give it a go. This one was simply going to the search link, typing "Love Actually", clicking "Match Exact Phrase" and clicking "OK".

LRoM mentions in that thread about the lateness of VS003?

Have you never experienced a delay on Virgin Richard...?:D Lucky you.

This is one of my favorite British movies with an excellent ensemble cast. Hugh Grant has a good turn as the British PM who stands up to a staid jerk of an American prez (played to the hilt by Billy Bob Thornton). The outstanding Emma Thompson glides through this movie in a sympathetic role that had me begging for more. Alan Rickman (everyone's favorite Professor Snape) is also terrific. Plot lines -- and there are many -- intertwine effortlessly as people fall in love during the Christmas season.

The movie was released shortly after 9/11 (in fact, in one version the opening sequence shows the Twin Towers burning) and clearly was meant to uplift spirits. Both the beginning and ending sequences occur in airports as loved ones are reunited.

The soundtrack is eclectic, with good rock & roll mixed with blues and some original music that can appeal to children as well as adults; be on the watch for a real knockout performance by Joni Mitchell that is worth the price of the CD. Kelly Clarkson belts out "The Trouble With Love" so superbly that one can be forgiven for forgetting that this young woman is, well, so young. The title song "Love is All Around" may seem to some a bit sappy, but if you like romantic comedies the song rings true.

Indeed the entire movie is a reminder that there is much to love about our world, and especially the UK and its people.

That bit of the film always gets me. I guess I'm a bit of a stickler for accuracy when it comes to some things.

Bearing in mind it was a school concert and it had been dark for some time - even when Hugh Grant starts knocking on doors - I'm guessing that the concert was not over till at least 8. ISTR that the concert was in South London so I'm guessing an hour to LHR especially with Christmas traffic. Advance check in time would seem to indicate a departure of at least 11pm which would have it arriving in the US just a little too late.

Then again maybe I'm just reading too much into this :D

Then again (again) look at the rest of the things that the producers goofed up.

The LHR Terminal mistake is mentioned here.

well on another thread someone mentions "The wedding date" They were leaving for london - But she was at LGW...and VS dont have a NYC -LGW service, But certainly one of the crew onboard are actually real cabin crew for Virgin - cant say name but know her!

Heres another Goof In Calander Girls they are flying to the USA from LGW, and are on a J2000 seat !! not to mention I think it was LAX (which is LHR anyway.

One of the funniest things I saw was last year on Pay Per View in a hotel, virgin made a micky take Porn Movie featuring the UCS... any way it was on the Adult section and was a Free view called something like Virgin discovery.

Anyway it sold the FF programe and said get bonus miles on your first trip... for two free tickets to take someone away.... and when they ask? Well its up to you if you say where you saw the offer??

I remember the PR for this, and thought it was a joke, but sure enough it was real. I couldn't stop laughing when I viewed it. Absolute class marketing.

Thanks,
Richard

I think you'll find they do as a code share:D[8D]:D. Doesn't quite explain why a VS crew would be on a CO flight!?

You keep on hinting at things that could lead to very cool stories. :) I take it the party is in the crew 'rest' area not the UCS cabin [}:)]?

No not really, some us have been around since the very original inception of the site and remember various threads. We may not remember the entire detail, but with a search we can find the thread in question. Everyone has different aptitudes, and I like Decker have an ability to retain a very large amount of data and can recall it very quickly.

Thanks,
Richard
