What with all the press reports recently on LGW LAS I dont remember much being made of this horrific episode.

For those members who don't want to read the entire report of the full extent of the horror, the following quote just about sums it up

"The flight crew responded to the in-flight emergency with commendable judgement and conducted a skilful landing, with the Airport Emergency Services in full and effective attendance. The evacuation was completed with minor injuries to 5 passengers and 2 crew members.

Not read it, but have discussed down the pub a few times :) (actually in the office too). Nowhere near as interesting as BA5390, loved the guy in the maintenace parts department that could recall from memory which size screw was required for attaching the windshield, like how many parts must there be in the fleet of BA planes?

Thanks,
Richard

I love reading these aaib reports. And this one is just a case of "Stuff" happens, all involved dealt with it in the professional manner they are trained to do, and the aircraft lived to fly another day. Why bring it up again now? As those on PPRune are fond of saying "A good landing is one you can walk away from"[y]
