Hi there,

I am flying to San Fran with Virgin later this month (can't wait!!) and I was wondering whether or not I will be allowed to use my laptop on board?

Also, is there a way I can charge my laptop during the flight, because obviously the battery won't last 10 hours!

Thanks a lot,

Jack

Welcome to V-Flyer Jack.

You haven't said what class you are travelling in.

Upper Class has empower leads and in-seat power.

Some of the newer planes have in seat power in Premium Ecoonomy, I believe, but haven't any personal experience of this.

There is no laptop power in economy and the lack of room between the seats makes laptop use difficult, but not impossible. You won't be able to use it during take off and landing though.

If you do a forum search on 'laptop' or 'empower' you will find several discussions about it.

Hope this helps.

Charging your laptop will be a no then regretfully in economy. You can buy VERY extended life batteries suitable for most laptops in the US. They're huge and thin and power most laptops for 6-7 hours.

There is no internet access in flight yet. This is only available on a limited number of carriers and whilst VS are thinking about it they're not there yet.

As a fellow silver card holder, don't hold your breath for an upgrade.

See The V-Flyer upgrade guide. for details.

There have been quite a few discussions about in-flight internet, but as Decker says, you won't find it on VS. You should find V-port, though. :D
