Mad Dash?

A little way off yet, but I'm starting to look at connecting flights for the mdviponds upcoming US trip. On our return leg on VS020 we're due in at 10.55. Nearest flight back up to LBA is with BMI from T1 at 12.45. Now, I'm willing to accept that we should probably skip Revivals , and also that no one has a crystal ball re. potential delays, but, generally speaking, is this an achievable connection or is our mad dash doomed from the start?

You might make it but your bags wont!!!

Officially the minimum connection time is 90 minutes but all it will take is a bit of a delay and that could screw things up. Like MarkJ said - you might make it but your bags wont! The time set is for the bags, never the person.

My crystal ball says you will make it. Your flight will be 20 minutes early, you will collect your bags earlier due to you having had 'Tight Connection' tags put on and you will arrive at the gate with time to spare.

Look me up if I'm wrong when you get home.

I would say you (and your bags) would easily make that with correctly tagged bags.........'Rush' 'Short Connection' or whatever they put on them these days......

I think I'm correct in saying that you will not collect your bags at LHR ? your bags should be tagged and checked thru to LBR when you check in... assuming your trip is all on one ticket. You will then be a 'transit' passenger at LHR..... you have 110min of connection time which should be more than sufficient.... particularly at that time of day.

I have done the opposite and flown into MAN from IAD and then down to LHR .... the first time I saw my hold baggage was at LHR.

Although if things have changed I'm sure someone will correct.

If your bags are not through booked then I hate to say its most definitely too tight [:#], just a question - are you travelling on seperate tickets?

'Fraid so. VS flights are all G. I'm booking the connecting flights separately. Looks like it'll have to be MAN (eugh!) with BA (double eugh!).

Why not take a later connecting flight, enjoy Revivals and not worry about your connection?

Why not have a nice evening in Londaon and go home the next day? hey - you're on Holiday!!!

The next LBA flight isn't till after 17.00, so even with Revivals, that's out. The MAN flight would give us enough time for a shower and full cooked though

Well, as a fellow Yorkshire lad living darn Sarf, you can have a nice evening in Laaaaarndan, but it very much depends on the company you keep that evening (and whether you have a big enough overdraft to cover the cost of a round!)

My occasional trips to our 'great' capital are usually on business and, hence, on expenses. However, the pub prices still make me wince and pine for a pint with a head on it...

Of course - and as I have loved in Wakefield, now in Solihull and previously in Hemel and support Man Utd ( which I know youre happoy about!!!) I feel I am an authority on "Good Nights out" in most of the major cities!!
