I think Mrs B must be the same as whenever she looks at her eyes (weird saying that) she says she has blue eyes, yet whenever I look I always see them as a murky grey colour[}:)]

Thre is actually a condition that affects some people causing them not to have a dominant eye colour gene, apparently i am such a person, and so my eyes change colour, ranging from Blue to Green to Grey to Brown dependant on my mood and other factors. There are also other eye colours such as true Hazel and Green where the make-up of the eye colour in terms of alleles has not yet scientifically been determined (where true Blue or Brown eyes is determined by recessive and dominant alleles of the 15th and 19th chromosome).

At this point, i will shut up and stop dragging Alans HD thread OT as no doubt nobody is that interested in chromosomes as i am! [:I]

Thanks,
Sarah

FWIW (not that you're interested), blue, with the occasional red veining, and always with very dark rings around the outside. I am getting fed up with csparker junior (major) telling me how tired I am...

But think how much more tired you'll look when jet-lagged! It's all relative.... [8D]

Unfortunatly not :-(
I cannot wear contacts as I get little spots under my eyelids after wearing them for a very short time.

Sounds like an infection/alergy issue alan. Sarah had the same thing, changed her solution brand, and hey presto!

Blue around the edges, hazel in the middle with dots of dark brown...hmmm very boring, except when I wear my special contacts, I have violet (which have people mesmerized) and various other shades (blue, brown, green), I also have cats eyes which freak people out, all white, all black and white with a red bloodshot look.

My eyes were particularly disturbing when I had jaundice two years ago and the whites were BRIGHT yellow..... :D

Blue-green (bloodshot fairly often) but changeable depending on my mood...

I see lots of eyes as I work for a charity that helps people with visual impairments (Action for Blind People). I have seen some training videos on eyes and eye conditions which are quite amazing - there is such a wide variety of eye colour. One lady I know has an artificial eye constructed from one of her back teeth. So she can see, although she does not have eyes. I'd like to know how the retinal scans that have been proposed for ID cards would work on her.

But my eyes, like a few here, vary in colour but have a darker ring around the outside which I have been told makes them striking. Mostly, they look green/blue and sometimes a bit hazel.

Green with a blue-grey ring. I am told they go small and very black when I am really angry. I was also told once that they were like limpid pools, but that was my Mum and she is somewhat biased!

Karnsculpture - A false eye made from a tooth - obviously ignoring all the eye-teeth jokes, how exactly does that work. I am totally confused but intrigued.
