Bearing in mind this will be my first time in UC, you'll have to excuse my off and on posting as I'm literally posting when I think of something [:I] If you've eaten your meal and a little later you get the munchies again, do they offer anything on request?

Thank you.

The Freedom Menu is just that... choose something else from the menu and (provided they still have some left) after the main meal gets served, you are welcome to munch away! Bear in mind that if they are still serving, you may need to wait a bit for service. They usually have munchies and fruit at the bar, so go up and be social!

Enjoy!

For those that pay lip service to healthy eating, the Freedom menu also gives you the option of light bites at each service, not just "beef, chicken or veg" first time then sarnies.

Just a quick question re UC food, following on from above....

As I'm normally flying in the back of the plane I just eat when it's placed in front of me! So can I just check what is the procedure in UC? I've read a bit about the Freedom Menu - does this mean that I have to ask for meal service? I realise that there are different options for different tastes but is there a menu available with a scheduled mealtime? I'll be flying from LHR-HKG which departs after 9pm so wanted to check what would be the best time to eat? (This will be my longest night flight) Any recommendations? Will they also serve breakfast at a scheduled time or will I have to request? As I'll want to get some sleep in before arriving in HKG...

What has everyone else done? I've read some TRs that suggest eating in the Clubhouse before flight then having bacon rolls before landing? I would like to experience an airline meal with real plates though! It will be such a novelty for me!

Mazzyk - There is still a serving of dinner at which you will be offered your selection from the menu. However you do not have to eat then, and you can request food at any time. Similarly you will be asked if you want waking for breakfast, although if you wake earlier there is nothing to stop you eating earlier.

For a late flight a slap up meal in the clubhouse is just the ticket though. That way you can get on the plane, have a drink and maybe a light snack/supper then get your head down for some serious z's.

Maria

It's up to you, you can choose to eat in the lounge before you board or eat on-board (or even both). I usually do both [:w]

You will be asked on board what you would like to order from the menu, if you dont specify, you will be served along with everyone else. You can choose to eat later in the flight if you wish too but you will need to specify this. You can order anything from the menu (and in any order you like as well) You dont even need to have the set starter, main and desert if you dont want.

It's your choice what you eat, when your eat it and even where you eat it (at your seat on your own, with a friend or even sat at the bar) :D
