Hi

I was hoping someone could answer a quick question?

I am travelling LHR/MIA on March 13th and returning on 23rd March.

I had a Travel Agen friend of mine check the availability of these, the flight out is showing a 747 and not to bad availability. For the return flight I have booked a PE seat, but I think the aircraft was showing as a A384? A386? Cant remmber what exactly. Does anyone know what the PE seats will be like on this aircraft, and what type of Entertainment system it may have? Its my first time on PE, so im hoping it will be a nice aircraft?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!! :)

Hi lovetravelling,

If it's the MIA flight, then it's likely to be the A340-600 (A346) aircraft, which will have V:Port entertainment (generally considered the best, due to its 'on-demand' nature).

If you're very lucky, you might be on the newly-configured A346 G-VWIN, which has a larger PE area and dedicated FA & lavs. That said, PE on the rest of the A346 fleet is still pretty good too ;)

Thanks Pete!

That puts my mind at rest, im sure it will be great!! Im currently on 71H for the flight back in PE. Hopefully this wont get changed. My friend did say their was a waitlist note on the system. Does this mean its busy? She seemed to think so? :)

Hi lovetravelling,

Seat 71H would imply a 747, as the A346 aircraft doesn't have a PE seat 71H :)

Still a very high chance of V:Port on the 747 out of Heathrow (there's only one that doesn't have it), and many prefer the bubble of the 747 since the cabin is more private, and yes - 71H is in the bubble. Take a look at the seat map here.

By "waitlist" she may have meant weight-list where the aircraft may not be able to take full cargo and pax - this sometimes happens coming back from Johannesburg.

Cheers,

^ Or she may have being talking about the waitlist.

My guess is to be waitlisted for J - but this is by no means complimentary!

Lovetraveling,
Welcome to V-Flyer!

Currently both your outbound and inbound aircraft are scheduled as Boeing 747-400s. The type of entertainment system you will encounter will vary according to the aircraft that flies the trip.

Enjoy V-Flyer and have a wonderful trip. Don't forget to file a Trip Report!

Chuck-

Yeah thats true - but this close to the date its pretty unusual for it to change unless the plane goes tech - and then they have the [problem of numbers if the fligth is full!!

By the way - I noticed that you have 115 posts so far which is an excellent contribution nto the board - however it woudl be really good if you joined as a member coz then you not only get to continue to recieve all the great info and chat on this site but also get a few extrea services - like the Private Clubhouse - where there are even more resources.

Bandwidth and server space is never cheap so it woudl be great if you could join and help the site in genereal - you alsol get some really cool luggage tags and business cards to leave at the BA desk!!!!

Well from time to time all of us have to turn to the "dark side" to get to a place that VS do not fly to - this has usually meant- for example - looking at flying to a VS destination then another 2 changes to actually get to where we want to go.

Sometimes tho its the "Revenge of the Sith" and we have to fly with BA.

So what abotu the membership then - come on its a couple of pints or a box of chocolates ( sorry but dont know if you are m or f?)

Sign up - have fun - get the cards to annoy BA!!!
