I was just doing some fake trading yesterday with some real companies and I couldn't seem to find a stock symbol for any Virgin company. I was specifically looking for one for VS but it seems as though no Virgin company is traded publically. Basically I am wondering if anyone here knows whether VS is a public company and whether they are in any stock market.

Whilst certain Virgin companies have dabbled on the stock market in the past, most are private and Virgin Atlantic specifically has never publically traded.

I don't believe the stock is publically traded. In 1999 SRB sold 49% to Singapore Airlines but I don't think it has ever been floated and therefore no stock symbol.

I await to be corrected

pretty much after the EMI deal SRB had enough cash to keep the airline private.Virgin was floated back in the 80's,but the offer was not a great money maker,in fact the stock went down.SRB and managment took the company private again and it has been held private ever since.

SRB seems to prefer partnerships over stock.

BAH! I wanted so much to trade some VS stock, oh well, I guess I'll have to stick with BA! [:O]

You may want to consider a different airline if you want to mimic VS in your portfolio. Are there any other airlines with the long haul only model. None spring to mind...
