I'm sure this has been asked before but my search abilities have let me down...[:I]

I am about to book a flight for my parents on VS to SFO ( using my companion ticket )

On my last E-ticket it states you must present the Credit Card used for booking at check in.

If I use my card to pay for the flights will this cause a problem for my parents at check in as they obviously won't have the card ?

PS - I finally found a good deal using my companion voucher in Y. Best price for 2 flight on VS website £1,516 - cost using companion voucher £977 [y] ( the delights of July/August travel eh!)

Give VS a call. I have done something similar for relatives travelling from US that obviously would not have my CC but I had to do it over the phone. Is still issued as an e-ticket

Spot on. Miles tickets don't increase in price whereas money tickets do. Also the differential in price between the fare codes tend to remain fairly constant - effectively making the redeeming fare codes relatively less expensive. So using companion tickets at peak time is an excellent way to make them count in Y.

From my own experience in terms of having my CC number change (thanks MBNA!) i have never been questioned about it, and in fact, never been asked for the original card used for payment on checking in.

You can technically offer any credit card when you check-in and it does not have to be the same one booked the flight with. As long as your name on the ticket matches your passport, thats all that really matters.

To put your mind at rest, id call VS and get them to confirm that it isnt a problem.

I have never, EVER had to ask for a credit card at check in.

The only time a credit card is mentioned is when it's a late booking and hasn't been debited yet but even then it's the number in the system that's taken, not a card.
