My fiance and I are flying Getting married in Vegas next year, everything is booked through Virgin Holidays. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to get a free upgrade to first class? we have PE seats booked but would love 1st class.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Matt

Hiya Matt and welcome to V-Flyer. We have a handy-dandy reference guide to this at http://www.v-flyer.com/pages.asp?pageid=2. Bottom line is don't hold your breath - especially on Vegas flights where there are only 14 Upper Class seats in any case. [:(].

Also, don't forget on Virgin, First Class is a little cold, so I would opt for Upper Class.

Hi There & welcome to the v-flyer forum.:)

I went to St Lucia in Dec 05 and our wedding was booked through Virgin Weddings Dept.Although i am have a FF Card we were not upgraded. However, if we wanted to upgrade we could do but had to pay.We deceided to keep our hard earned cash for treats on holiday so didnt bother.

I hope whatever you deceide you have a fab time!:D

Cant offer any more advice than has been given above im afraid
with regards to upgrades at least - Slightly OT but useful advise would be for both you and your fiance to join FC as you may as well both get the miles for your troubles!! Youll almost earn enough for a Eurostar ticket or Short European flight so its worth joining.

Back on topic you could choose to spend these miles for an upgrade on a future flight!!

we dont fly very often At all, this is a big trip for us so FC might not be worth it - or am i wrong

FC will be worth it - it costs nothing to join, and miles don't expire as long as there is some activity on the account every three years. There are easy ways to keep an account active if you don't fly - Virgin wine and the credit card are possibly the easiest. Even if you don't fly VS, you may find yourself on other carriers that can earn you VS miles.

There are plenty of threads in this forum that cover ways to earn extra miles.

Hi

Its definitely worth it! Look on it like a Boots card or a Nectar card, your gaining points which you will be able to use at some point.

The miles you will gain could be used to reduce the cost of any future flights you take within the next 3 years using their Miles + Money flights.

Since joining the Flying Club in 2000 we have travelled with Virgin 3 times, all in economy (Y rocks!) and this year we have used our miles to reduce the cost of our flight this year using Miles + Money and saved around £400 compared to booking a normal VS flight.

Hoping to go again next year and use the balance of my miles to upgrade from Economy to PE. So its well worth it!

Its hard enough finding a reward ticket for that route or a Z for that matter.

Anyway you never know, good luck....and congratulations.

Did I mention its my Birthday tommorow[}:)]
