to Orlando on 15th May on VS075, back 23rd on VS076

Hi, first post here.

just wondering out of interest if theres a way to find out which planes were on and what entertainment and other things we'll have on the planes.

also wondered if anyone knows what seats 30 F and G are like. i'm disabled and need leg room so weve been given these seats because of that.

This is the first time ive flown in something like 17 years and that was only to Germany so im really looking forward to it and just wanted to see what i could find out about the flight.(i can feel a panic attack on its way lol)

I dont really know what im asking about here, total newbie lol.

Hi there Chaddy - and welcome on board - you will find us all a pretty friendly bunch and that there is a great deal of help, advice and information to be had.

The first port of call if you need something is to try the Search - this will help you start to track down what you need

As to which aircraft you will be on - theres no specific details given here because a- we often dont know and b. it could be a security risk - however you can find out a great deal at this Which Aircraft location.

Seat maps are here - Seat Maps

There - have a look at that lot and then if you are still stuck - ask!!

Welcome aboard!![y]

Chaddy,
Firstly welcome to v-flyer!
If you look here you can enter your flight details and will see what aircraft IFE's etc have served that route.

In answer to your second question you can look here for the seat plans.

I'd look at 21 H/J personally as it offers great legroom (and is what I try and get on this type of a/c)

and btw I have a disability too

Hello Chaddy,
I am not sure about the seats, but we have just got back from Orlando and from what I have seen, it seemed a very disabled friendly airport. No steps that I can remember between the aircraft and immigration with plenty of lifts where needed and easily accesible (wide doors,no steps, wide aisles) trains between terminals. Car rental was an easy flat walkway across a single road from the arrivals terminal.
Bar on the way back after security in Terminal B was a straight walk in as well. Not a straight walk out though if you have too many.[}:)]
Theme parks seemed well set up also.
Hope this helps.

In addition to what Paul said I'd recommend using an on terminal car hire company (as that way you can just drive out.

I know Alamo/National are bnoth on site but there are a few others too.

edited: you guessed it spelling I really should read my posts before posting![:I]

We used Dollar car rental which is on terminal as well.

Back in November 2004 I flew from LGW to MCO on VS and had booked a rental car with Alamo. The queue to collect the car was in excess of an hour long, completely filling the queue "pen" and extending well beyond it. I heard Porters mentioning to their clients that they had never seen the Alamo line that long either.

Certainly, I used Alamo in 2001 and 2002 when they were "off Airport" on McCoy Road & never waited more than 5 mins to collect a car there, even if you were on a full shuttle bus from the airport to Alamo.

Guess I must have been [very] unlucky with my arrival time back in Nov 2004.

Just a little tip - if you use an 'on-airport' car hire company, you can queue for the car paperwork while you are waiting for your luggage to come out from the final carousel, and beat the rest of the passengers! (just remember to go back to collect your bags before you go out to collect your car!!)

Good point Juliet. Only comment I can make is that the long queue I was stuck in was not made up of Brits alone, i.e. not a cast of a VS / BA / other aircraft all arriving at once full of Brits. I would estimate that the queue was roughly 50/50 Brits & Americans.

Suffice it to say, many people in the queue were expressing their displeasure at it's length. What made it worse was that it took a good 45mins before the National Rent-a-Car staff [part of the same company as Alamo & have the adjacent desk to Alamo + a shared computer system, so it seems] helped out and started serving the Alamo queue. (National queue was empty).

I will certainly consider your point about getting the hire car, then picking up bags from secondary reclaim in November. That said, I am on VS075 from MAN this time, which arrives at MCO well ahead of the 3 VS flights from LGW & also the BA ones from LGW. Hopefully queues will be shorter this time round!

Mod note.....The debate about rollercoasters and other things to do with Fla. Theme Parks has been split off and moved to here in the Theme Park forum.
