VS in new Bond Film

Please forgive me if this is in the wrong place or has been discussed before (did a search and nothing came up).

Anyway a 346 (not sure of reg) is currently in Prague being used for the filming of the new James Bond Film. Apparently all shots are being done at night and the a/c is being used along with a Travel Service 738. They have two catering trucks in VS colours as well and the steps on the a/c read 'miami international'. There are pics doing the rounds on the internet.

Looks like VS have pulled off yet anohter bit of free advertising- they seem to make a habit of this with films dont they. At last Bond has come across from the Dark Side. ;)

I'll look out for some pics..

I think its all part of a very effective VS marketing machine

SRB himself has appeared in the odd cameo role

I never knew he was in Baywatch for example! - I think I saw the friends ep though

Doubt the advertising will be free, brillient to see Virgin being linked to what is considered best of British. Can't wait to see the film.

Ooooh I wonder if the closing scene will be Bond and a lady friend in an UCS about to get slightly more intimately acquainted? Though not sure about how - not too much room.

Just slightly off subject. Have you all seen the trailers for the film. I understand that the trailer was not due for release until the 15th of May, but a mistaken email to the French press caused a worldwide rush to release it yesterday. Filming is currently in progress, film due for release in November, is that right Bazz?

Steve has come up trumps! The aircraft featured is G-VWIN, "Lady Luck" (Airbus A340-600). Have a look at these beauties...

Steve has been a good mate for many years, quite a few films to his credit, always in the Special/Visual Effects areas. Oh, and he likes blowing things up too! He did the last two Tomb Raiders and the last Batman movie.

the last Batman movie

I really enjoyed Batman begins cracking film a lot darker.Just viewed the teaser, looks like Bond is going to be a mean and cynical killer just as Fleming wrote him,I do hope so.

So how does a busy airline find the time to have one of its newest aircraft sitting around in an airport it doesn't serve doing nothing?

I assume the film makers charter the aircraft for the duration, probably at reasonable cost due to the excellent product placement in the biggest film franchise there is!

Precisely ... an earlier post that it was free publicity is probably not the case ... having an empty 346 sitting around will cost a lot, wonder if it is recooped directly from the film makers or Virgin believe the indirect return through advertising is sufficient?
