Just heard on the news VS have followed BA by adding a £5.00 Fuel surcharge to tickets.

Fully expected it, since SRB said VS would try and swallow it as long as crude remained at $40 per barrel - which obviously it hasn't.

It's fair enough as far as I'm concerned. £5 extra isn't a huge amount and if it'll help the airline cover the extra fuel costs, that's fine.
Though, having already payed for my surcharge-free tickets for September, I may be biassed!

Guess it was only a matter of time the way things have been going, however, as TJ says it is not an excessive amount and you can't accuse VA of profiteering as some others have done in the past.

Just been to LA and back with VIRGIN 2 june 2004 and was not asked for any fuel charge.

It wasn't mentioned on my MIA trip - I assumed it was only for new bookings.
They appear to be talking more about gas prices in the US, than they do about the actual conflict[:(!] Poor darlings are having to pay over $2 a gallon now[:0]
