Can an UC passenger take a guest into any of the Virgin clubhouses or only the UK ones?

Thanks for any replies.

It does not specifically say that a guest is welcome on the VS website - not that I could see on the link above. (If I was looking with my eyes closed, as normal, then I apologise).

I do recall people on here saying a guest is welcome at some Clubhouses / Lounges, but not at others - didn't someone have problems at the Escape Lounge in Manchester?

The guest *should* be flying on the same flight with VS, I thought?

Same goes with partner lounges, but I'm not sure if you have to have an Au card rather than just an UC ticket to allow a guest into a partner lounge (as opposed to VS lounges)... [?]

The guest just has to be flying with VS on that day, not necessarily the same flight. Details here in the FAQ ;)

I always thought the guest lounge access was the same system-wide, whether it's a VS CH or a Shared Lounge....[?]

Cheers

Michael

Agreed, but I'm only basing that on the fact that I've had a gold card. I've not been travelling in Upper, with a guest, and not had my gold card - so I'm a little vague on whether it was the "Upper", "Gold" (or both) that granted guest access.

Obviously not cumulative entry eligibility - you're only allowed one guest whether you have one or both entry "instruments"... ;)

You may want to read Paul H trip report which covers problems he had with non virgin lounge access..........sounds like virgin say you are allowed however the lounge may not agree!

The Gold benefits listed on the VS Website only make reference to taking a guest into Clubhouses, provided they are travelling on VS the same day. No mention is made of shared lounges. [?][?]

I've taken many guests into shared lounges (LAX / BOS / MCO) before, with no problem, so I know it's OK. The issue I'm struggling with is whether that was because of my UC ticket, or my Au card. [?]

... or both [:?]

Is access not granted by the check-in desk? They issue you with the invite which gives entry to the lounge and stipulate on there how many guests. We've had one invite for two people before.

Guys going back to OT, one guest per UC/Au ticket holder is allowed provided the guest is flying VS that day.

The actual flight makes no odds as long as its VS that day.

The escape lounge at Man needs to be sorted as ive never had issues at any vs/shared lounge before.

I've had a guest in the NW boston lounge with an UC ticket, so its not a shared lounge thing!

Maybe we can create an IP based rule for you Jonathan then, so between the hours of 11pm and 9am the next day you can read-only and not reply! :D

Thanks,
Richard

Able to help here.

Flying out of LAS in UC as a Silver, I obviously had access to the shared lounge. I was also given a guest invitation at checkin for my sister who was flying PE. They wrote her name out on it - so I had to specify the guest at checkin. So, guest access available to shared lounges via UC ticket.

This doesn't answer whether an Au flying E/PE would be able to bring a guest in though. I suspect so.

Remember also there is no other VS flight my guest could have been on that day...

An Au flying in Economy or PE, can take a guest into a clubhouse or a shared lounge - have done this many times.

Thanks,
Richard
