I just returned from London, taking a quick trip with my Delta benefits. Being fortunate to snag a seat in BusinessElite, I was a little suprised when one of the flight attendants came around shortly before landing, giving out complimentary Fastrack passes for immigration. This was my first time heading over the pond with Delta, and was just not expecting this.

Just out of curiousity, do any other airlines, or VS, offer this to their J class passengers?

It certainly made arrival quick and painless. I think I was aircraft door to train platform in about 10 minutes (although having no checked luggage certainly helped). Might be a nice little extra for VS to consider if it is not currently offered.

It is fair to note however that this was not done on landing in the US (not to worry though, as CVG has the quietest immigration hall I've ever seen), just on the CVG-LGW segment.

Also, a little OT, but I remember reading on here the debate over using lavs in other classes. On my return flight, LGW-CVG, the captain made an announcement saying that, "in accordance with FAA regulations, on all flights to the United States, passengers are required to use the restroom in the cabin they are seated". He also added that queues of more than 2 people wouldn't be allowed. Now I've flown into the US quite a few times, and never heard this was a FAA reg., but maybe I've been asleep all this time. [:?]

VS offers FastTrack immigration on arrival to UC passengers. Pretty common bebfit for carriers into London and certianly helpful. Only downfall is (IIRC) only avail to non-EU peeps. :D

Also (ISTBC) arrival FastTrack is only avail to UC passengers. Departure FastTrack is avail to UC and VS Gold passengers.

Personally I think FastTrack kicks hinny. [}:)]

9/10 times, if you're an EU resident, the EU channel is faster than the fast-track line on arrival - despite the mass of people that can appear to be there waiting already.

Hi webdes,
Glad you were able to enjoy a bit of time off from your busy life. On my last trip into LHR on VS in UC the FAs passed out the FastTrack cards. We arrived on the VS4 so were at LHR early in the morning; I was one of the few Americans in UC apparently and ended up being first in the Fast Track line, breezing right through.

As for the announcement regarding lav queues I hear it all the time while traveling in the US. The flight deck typically makes the announcement soon after takeoff.
