We are flying on VS19 to SFO next week.:D

Can anyone tell us what will be on the menu in UC?

Have heard about the Best of British menus, but is it really only going to be a choice of Chicken Tikka or Bangers & Mash!!!!?
Neither of these dishes appear in any way special...[:(]

In the clubhouse, what food would others recommend for pre-flight?

Thanks in anticipation

Hi Rod,

Yup - it'll be the best of British menu. I think there's a pie on there too though, from memory. I've had the tikka twice now - once bad, once good. Third time lucky... [:w]

In the LHR Clubhouse you're talking breakfast/brunch: I usually go for the eggs Benedict, but if you are hungry ask for two! Wash it down with a vat of champagne and you're all set.

Is the UC menu due to change soon? I thought it was a three month rotation and the Best of British has been there since early March

Rod,
Having just flown LHR-LAX I had the opportunity to sample items from this menu. My TR has a longer description and I won't waste your time repeating it here. In my opinion, offerings aside overall the food in UC seems to be on the upswing.

IIRC Honey Lamb, we were told by several staffers who are V-F members that this menu is indeed in rotation. I remember the menu saying something like the items being "Spring" offers, so let's see what summer brings.

I too would be interested in what the summer menu might be after it "rotates" from the current Best of British one as I'm due to travel in five weeks time, and was a bit uninspired by the current menu. I like the idea of eggs benedict at Heathrow though! Virgin Trains have got better recently about publising first class menus on the website - something for VS to learn from, perhaps?
