I have a ticket booked that is S outbound and K return, but am going to have to cancel it. Unfortunately I get nothing back on it, apart from some tax, as VS are telling me that the ticket rules on a return ticket follow the lower booking class, what ever the leg booking. I knew I would get nothing on the K leg, but was surprised about the S. Anyway for the moment I have it on 'hold' on my account as I think I could use it within a year with a £50 change fee for a different route/date.

Anyone got any better ideas of what I could do with it?

Yeah if you are on a mixed fare class flight, the rules of the lowest fare code always over-ride anything else.

Can you pay to upgrade the whole ticket to an S, Jeremy?

Although you're still stuck with the ticket, it would make it upgradable in the future.
