Why no RT pre-order on the VS200?

As the title suggests, just wondering why you are not able to pre-order Retail Therapy goods on any of the VS200 flights?
Yes I can understand (sort of) why not on the HKG-SYD leg or on the VS201 return flights due to space requirments etc, but surely it would not be that difficult to arrange on the LHR-HKG leg?
I nearly fell through the floor when I saw the cost of 200 cigs at LHR (£6 less than VS charge for 400 [:0]) as this was the first time I ever had to buy at LHR rather than my usual pre-order. I buy Superkings which are only available as a pre-order item and not available on board. Again why this is, I'm not sure?
Any ideas?
Thanks and Regards

This may be worth an e-mail to Virgin. I understand due to load factors and weight restriction and space that they may be unable to load everything on board the aircraft. However if we are unable to use the pre-order service for the VS200 / VS201 then we are missing out on the incentives that Virgin are giving in order to incourage passengers to use the pre-order service. For example
10 Flying Club miles for every £1 spent on pre-order
and
A choice of free gift when you spend over £60 on pre-order.
Also as you say why are some items for pre-order only and not all products for sale .

Its to do with the fact that the bar carts are away from the UK for so long - rem they go LHR-HKG-SYD-HKG-LHR.
The logistics of getting the bars back to the UK to process the order to then ensuring that the order goes out on the right flight (possibly three days before the flight that the passenger is on) are too complex to offer this service on these routes.

There is simply more demand on board for Malboro Lights and B&H so the carts are stocked with more of these which we're more than likely to sell[8D]

James,
Tinks would be spot on this. Superkings are not as popular as the brands mentioned. Commission on sales is king
