Advice required - Y pax visiting PE upstairs

I am part of a party of six flying to San Francisco for 4 nights and then on to Las Vegas for 10 nights,meeting up with an additional 3 friends,anyhow i have booked to fly premium economy with my other half ,and the rest of my party are in economy.will my friends be able to visit me in premium economy ,and vice versa ,have booked seats on the upper deck and would like to chat and drink etc.Any advice appreciated.

Going back to see your friends won't be an issue unless meal services are ongoing. Them coming to see you won't likely be a problem BUT space is more at a premium upstairs so there may be some objection to all 4 arriving at once.

With USA security still an issue, having all four friends approach the front of the aircraft at the same time could be a bit of a scare for the flight crew. Definitely suggest one at a time.

There should not be an issue with you in PE visiting them.

There may be an issue if Y passengers attempt to visit PE as they would have in attempting to visit UC. More that one Y visitor at the time may attract comments from other PE passengers if it gets too noisy

I would have thought common sense would say that 4 passengers visiting 1 passenger in another class (at the same time) is pushing it - whereas 1 passenger visiting 4 passengers is more than reasonable!

Maybe so, unless you aren't aware of specific VS policies about crossing over from one class of service to another (on US carriers, it's just flat not allowed and the ban is strictly enforced). In this case, the OP wasn't familiar with the etiquette on board and chose to ask the question rather than be ignorant on board and possibly violate a security or flight ops protocol.
