I was thinking about the new Y and W seats today (random as always) and wondered if they will be promoted like ucs is, the Y and W info on the VS website shows oddessy Y seats and the old W seats.
I think if VS did adverts on the new PE seats coming out they would probibally get more sales.
back to my question will The new Y and W seats be promoted?

In terms of TV adverts, I wouldn't think so. VS never seem to advertise any product other than Upper Class, and even then it's always regional. I have yet to see any VS Upper Class TV advert on standard TV in the North West of England.

There might be newspaper adverts for PE but dont expect anything for economy.

Crikey - for a site that champions non-discrimination there's an awful lot of Northern-bashing! Perhpas you all need to travel north of Watford Gap a bit more!

My impression has been that VS do a lot more marketing sell in the states and outside the UK. They are very well known with the UK relatively speaking, but other markets maybe not so much.

In addition to what has already been said -(ignoring the derogatory 'Northernist' comments);)

VS got a lot of stick for pushing the ads for the Suites when they were only on a few planes in the fleet. People booked expecting the Suites and felt badly let down.

The danger if they start to market the new Y and W seats will be a repeat of this... at least until they are rolled out over the majority of the fleet, which I would think is a long time away.

When UCS was first introduced, it was only on SFO wasn't it - could they do something similar with the new PE? However, AFAIK, there are no exclsuviely A346 routes?[:?]

Just checked "which aircraft will I be on?" and saw that NRT and LOS are both A346 only on paper. However, a single A346 at first could not operate NRT and LOS isn't a very high profile route unlike NY for example so it wouldn't be suitable either.
I guess it'll just be down to luck;)

To be honest not many airlines do advertise their economy unless there's something really different about their product, the economy product is pretty standard accross the board.

Yeah, the only time I have ever seen economy class advertised was when AA was advertising that they were removing seats from coach to increase legroom. Funny enough after a couple of years they put the seats back in..
