Hi everyone.
I have been reading a few of the posts about upgrades and was wondering if someone could clarify something for me.
I am a member of Flying Club and have 25k miles at the moment.
We are booked to fly economy LHR - Miami in November.
Can I use my Flying Club miles to upgrade me and my wife one way to PE?
If so, do I do it in advance or at the airport?
Thanks.
Nick

Hi Nick and welcome,
You should be able to upgrade (subject to availability) I think it is 10k miles one way, for a qualifying economy fare upgrade to PE.
Call Flying Club, they will deal with your request.

Thanks Bazz. Tried calling Flying Club but they say Virgin Holidays is not a qualifying fare.
D'oh!

Nick,
You can still try when you check-in, it has been known for non-qualifying fare pax to be allowed to upgrade on the day.
Good luck!

I've tried on many occasions to upgrade VH tickets and never worked.
This isn't due to lack of seats either!! The last time I tried I was turned down at the ticket desk, but then I asked about an upgrade at check-in and was given an operational one:D:D
Go figure!!

V-Holidays tickets for economy are booked in V class as per my guide:
http://www.v-flyer.com/codes.aspSo using points is not possible, however you could try for a paid upgrade on the day of departure - I have done this before on VH tickets.
Thanks,
Richard
