Planning a trip to Dubai next April/May. It struck me yesterday that in my last 20 years of travelling I've never had to think about early arrival. In the old days it was the standard package trip (put on the coach at the airport taken to the hotel), more recently a lot of travelling west (where the flight arrives in the afternoon).

My question is I see VS400 arrives at 07.10 so what do you do with yourself until normal hotel check in time?

Do any of the hotels let you arrive in the morning and Check in (maybe for an extra fee)?. After a night flight and the change in temperature, just want a shower and get the shorts and T shirt on.

I know most hotels will let you drop your baggage off early but I really could do with a little more that this, failing that does anyone know a good place to go until Check in time?

When we went to Dubai we checked in on arrival at the hotel. The room wasn't ready and we were invited to use the facilities at the pool until it was. In fact it was ready for us very shortly afterwards and so it wasn't a problem

Before you go just let the hotel know your arrival details (flight number and arrival time etc) and they should be able to sort something out for you. Your room might even be ready for you, you never know.

Flights arriving into SYD also have this same issue.

We also arrived at the same time in the morning, we did advise the hotel in advance and though they had no obligation to release the room early we were in by 9am.

Worth a try

I contacted the hotel too prior to arrival and advised them I would be arriving 9am ish. Although they couldn't guarantee anything they said they would give me a courtesy room to shower and change in as worst case scenario. The room was ready on arrival there though:D.
