New hand luggage policyBit confused as they say "New policy" and then say it's the same as always. Perhaps they mean enforcement?

I think this would be "new policy" as in "new, new, new club world", "new England Manager turning over a new leaf" and "new improved omo".

It's new in the sense that BAA Security themselves will be enforcing the IATA policy at the Central Search area.

So are BAA staff weighing the bags too because this starts to limit the change BA made with their 'as long as you can lift it into the locker' policy?

This sucks. BAA have no interest in anything other than eroding the travellers amount of luggage in the name of 'security'.
Its going to get to the point where you cant take any luggage at all through and have to (as I do) repeatedly buy again all the things that are forgotten in the name of small useless bags.
BAA were moaning about spaghetti cables and laptops. They dont seem to understand that these things are absolutely necessary for the business traveller who wouldnt be travelling at all without them.
