You may have to ask for 'special assistance' if you have had too much of the Old Speckled Hen, Michael;);)

Mate, I won't even need to be wrecked to be asking if there's no travelators - I don't do walking :D

well if there's no travelators you have two options:

1. get somebody to take you on one of those buggies

2. sneak a trolley through security and get someone to push you across.

well if you need to be disabled, we could always break your leg.

orrrrr sedate the driver using a cocktail or sedatives and then drive over and over the bridge

orrrr fake a disabled badge.

Don't know if the A380 has a higher tailplane that the 744, but they must have thought of that, eh? [:I];)

You certainly would hope that they had, but apparently (according to someone on airliners.net) it is too low for the A380, maybe the A380 was just a glint in Airbus' eye when the bridge was designed. ;)

or if your mind is as warped as mine, you'll believe that BA gave BAA a back hander so that VS wouldn't beable to operate it's A380s at gatwick.

of course this is highly speculative....
