According to the VS flight status app, Nick's flight should have landed about now. Hmmm, my boss's flight is due back this morning too - I think he's on the VS28 which is showing an hour's delay for estimated arrival.

Cheers

guessing that was his departure date not arrival?

Swanick has been useless since its inception.
Three major failures in four years.
Major disruption all day as with ATC working only with aircraft already up, and slowly bringing back the computer system.

useless, useless blooming system! Not Windows OS is it Richard?

MAN and NCL back up and running.

The failure was at west drayton.

Upgrade patch to the West draton 20 year old software caused the system to crash, Swanick has no backup, so no movement slips available and had to go back to manual written system.

MAN 2 hour delay to Vs MCO flight, so no difference then! :D:D:D

The VS76 landed @ 0700 and got to the gate @ 0726, so only 1 minute late. The VS75 is currently scheduled to depart on time @ 1025.

AMENDMENT-- VS 75 has now left gate @ 10:35 and took off @ 11:00
due to arrive mco @ 14:42. 7 minutes late !

Freeway, It was a couple on SKy News who were on the MAN flight saying that they were delayed by two hours. Sorry if it's wrong. Not me honest!:D

No worries, it may end up being late anyway, but the press are so bloomin OTT and over dramatic, VS only have 2 slight delays inbound today and they are due to tech.

They have some American woman on the news complaining like billyo about the fact she has been flying around for three months and this is the first time she has been inconvienienced like this and wants to get out of the UK as soon as possible.

Home Again:)

Thanks for all of your concern, it turned out not to be too much of a problem.

Came in this morning on the Airbus 'Cover Girl', the pilot was Ian Whitman. It was a very quick 7hrs 33mins from MIA to LHR, as he dropped down over South Wales to 11,000 feet he announced that he had expected ATC delays because of a computer problem, but he had now been told to speed up and land at the normal time.

We landed without a problem but then the fun started - no gates were available so we had a remote gate and were to be bussed in. Then there were no steps[:(]

Bottom line was a 10 min delay getting a gate and then a further 25 mins waiting for steps and a bus! Arrivals was very busy, but mainly because they were swiping all the UK / EU passports, so it is no longer just a quick walk through to baggage reclaim.

Bags arrived about the same time as we did so all in all the delay was minimal.

Phew - glad to hear you're back with us safe & sound :)
Me & Decker were mighty confused over whether you were departing or arriving today - or maybe it was just the lack of caffeine & nicotine stimulants? :D
