How many of us have bought FC miles?

According to the poll on the Virgin website it seems only 10% of members have purchased miles while a whopping 90% have yet to do so.
I'm not really interested in buying them myself right now but maybe in the future, if I don't have enough to redeem an award I *might* consider buying some.
Have you bought yours yet or have you received some as a present?

No on both counts.

No on both fronts here too.
I don't think I would ever consider buying miles given how easy it is to earn via a credit card. You can go go buy something on your plastic and earn - and have your purchase to show for your efforts.
I plan my trips in advance. I don't really put myself in a position where I need quick miles...

No to both. If I get desperate I'm sitting on tonnes of Amex MR points.

No but if I am stuck it's good to know it's there given that I am not eligible for a VS credit card [V]

well i would not want Sean to be in the telephone box on his own so thought i would admit to buying 4000 miles to top up my partners air-miles for a flight to mco in p/e next year did not want to wait around as tickets for this flight i believe become tight so i thought it was still value for money better safe then sorry

I haven't yet purchased any, but have considered it several times- and am sure that at some point I will (for an upgrade or other purpose). Remember that us here in the US don't have the benefit of a VS credit card.
But for those of you in the UK... surely if you bought VS miles on your Virgin Credit Card, you'd earn double miles? That might be hansomly attractive if coupled with another promotion.

Depending on my schedule I may buy some to get up to 100K miles for an UC reward ticket at the end of the year.
I dont think the price for 25K miles is that bad personally.

A question for those you have bought up miles so far......
Is your transaction billed to VA or Points.com?? Suppose if you bought 10,000 miles and paid by the new VS Amex Black, would you would earn 6 miles x the £165 cost?? That would potentially earn you another 990 miles.

I think that is probably wishful thinkin!! Be good if it was though, but doubt it.

I have always flown BA, especialy now that I take advantage of the non-flying miles earning potential, but would now like to try VS as the UC sounds like a fantastic product.
As there are not so many miles earning oportunities with VS it looks as if I might resort to buying some miles so I can do an MFU. Is it worth buying them?

I bought some - 1,000; the least efficient amount possible! A couple of UC seats became available last week for a flight I'm on, but I was 250 miles short. Alternative was to use some of Mrs aardvark's miles, but that would have taken her below the magic 100,000.
