In flight food

I have read that sometimes you don't always get a full choice of in flight food. Is there a set plan for serving food on flights or maybe does it depend on the crew. We are flying Manchester to Orlando next year and have booked seats 53 & 54 HKJ (Both rows,6 of us)which are in the rear section and did wonder whether we have made the right choice. It would appear that there are no seat ratings for these seats, at the time of booking there was a limited choice to get seats together.

Would agree with what you have said and personally try to get further forward to be sure of a choice - when is your flight?

ISTR the Y meal service on the 747-400 starts from the front and back and works toward the middle.

Don't know if that's any help or not?

Thanks for your replies, We are actually not flying until May next year. I think unless some unfavourable seat ratings come in for the seats we have chosen, the plan for now is to stick with it, at least then the seats can get a rating once they have been tried!

Your seats should be fine. As Mike has said, meal services on board in Economy get served from the back of the aircraft and also from the front (meeting somewhere in the middle) so it is very unlikely you will not get your pick of all three meal options as you are close to the back.

There are no seat rating for these actual seats on our seat plan, but from memory they are just typical economy seats, albeit slightly closer to the galley than some, so you may get a slight bit of noise from the crew preparing meals or going back and forth, but its probably not enough to warrant worrying about or moving seats.

Thanks,
Sarah

Or....order a Special Meal. They get served first!
