Interesting that there's no mention of the cancelled VS11/12 yesterday on that note - despite it being well and truly Missing In Action... [:?]

Using Flight status on VAA website, you can see what happened to the VS9 and the VS11/12.

Also the VS019 to SFO is operating from LGW today with an ETD of 1700hrs.

I take it they're busing people round there then, JS?

That must be a nightmare, trying to find the pax turning up for the 19 at LHR in all that chaos and then getting the poor blighters onto a bus to LGW - not much fun!

I believe so. Looks like it's a knock on effect from the BAA wanting to cancel 30% of LHR flights, so we're moving part of the operation to LGW (rumours abound of LAX from LGW as well although not confirmed yet).

Just had a look on expertflyer and the SFO and LAX seatmaps only show up if you put in LGW instead of LHR (both still LHR config).

Edit: VS023 only form LGW, not VS007

LGW VS 0023 Departing 08/13/06 06:00PM
LAX VS 0023 Arriving 08/13/06 09:35PM

LGW VS 0019 Departing 08/13/06 03:00PM
SFO VS 0019 Arriving 08/13/06 05:50PM (delayed to 19.00)

Is LGW coping with its flights?

So will the VS19 still be operated by a LHR 744 from LGW or will a LGW based aircraft fly this route today and will the VS24 and 20 be LHR or LGW bound?

And G-VEIL operated VIR23 from Gatwick for anyone who likes to know. :)

The VS19 was operated by an LHR config.

The SFO and LAX diverts were LHR type B744.
Actually these pax were handled quite quickly, compare to even those checking in at LHR. Not sure what the security/check-in was like at LGW today though.

I know this would probably only help me,but could we keep 19 & 20 at LGW till the end of Dec,it would after all help VS with the number of flight reductions BAA is demanding.

Ok being serious, big [y] to VS for responding so quickly and moving flight's to LGW.

Guess we wont hear no V:Port at LGW for a while [:w]
