OLCI worth it? Perhaps not!

Did OLCI for VS027 on July 26th - arrived at Gatwick at 8:50 (flight 11:15). Queue only slightly shorter for baggage drop than standard check-in and fewer positions open. Monitored people who joined the other queue at the same time - they checked in before we reached the counter[}:)]. Took us 50 minutes!

I know that we would have arrived a lot earlier if checking in at the airport and I was relaxed that I had confirmed the actual seats, but I was still surprised by the wait.

Is this scenario typical?

BTW used Downtown Disney on Friday for return. Very easy especially given the security issues. Also through MCO security in just 5 minutes!

Hi,

This topic has been discussed quite a few times recently, here is the most recent one

It seems it is still a subject people are unsure of

At the moment I'd say not [:(!]

I use it at London Gatwick frequently meaning that the following morning I can go straight to the Clubhouse or the Gate to avoid the rush etc ... :D If you've ever flown out of LGW in the morning you'll know how crowded the VS Area gets !

Bearing in mind that I always have a small overnight case with toiletries and laptop bag with me, and that I can't at the moment take them on board, it's back to the Fast Bag Drop Point, which seems to defeat the object of Twlight Check In [:(!]

The only real use I can see is the ability to reserve seats which others have already covered on here in the past :D
