I know we got our 8000+ points last year for our flights to MCO, but they weren't eligible for the miles more friends so i didn't get a bonus for joining up my husband. Do you still get the full amount of points on VH class seats?

VH tickets earn full miles depending on which class they are booked in. A lot of VH bookings are made in N class which only earn 50% of miles flown, all other Y booking classes earn 100%, PE & UC earn the same as if booked with VS direct.

I guess last year your booking must of been in N class, as last year this class did not earn miles at all, and is why you could get the MMF bonus.

Yup, you will earn miles for taking the flights, but in order to grab the miles for a MMF referral, the person you referred must take a flight in a qualifying fare class.

Qualifying fare classes are: Economy (Y, B, L and M), Premium Economy (W, K, H and S) and Upper Class (J, D and Z).

If you booked through Virgin Holidays in Economy, i am guessing you were booked in V class as that is what they usually utilise - 100% flight mileage earning, 0% MMF earning.

Many people get caught out by this, and of all the people i have referred i have yet to see any miles as they tend to book the cheapest Economy flights [:(] You should not have any issues with PE or Upper flights.

Your referral is still valid though, so if in near future Hubby takes a flight on a qualifying fare (say you and he book PE fares back to MCO) you'll then net those miles.

Thanks,
Sarah

Thats interesting Sarah, never knew that about MMF, I have recommended 3 people and have always got miles so thought it was a standard (apart from one partner flight which didnt earn miles [V]).

Thanks for the info:)
